ExperimentaDesign is a cultural biennale dedicated to design, architecture and contemporary creativity and a trademark of Experimenta, a Portuguese non-profit association.

With a dynamic and bold programme, EXD generates and showcases original projects and ideas in different formats.

This year, under the theme “It’s About Time”, EXD’09 biennale will feature 77 events (17 nuclear and 60 parallel), comprising areas such as architecture, product design, communication design, urbanism, visual arts, interactive design, fashion and jewellery.

The Opening Week from 9 to 13 September will kick off this celebration of contemporary culture and creativity with a stalwart cast of participants from the around the globe. Bookings for the Lisbon Conferences and Open Talks are now open. As seats are limited, avoid disappointment and book now.

Also featuring at this time are the opening events of the Biennale exhibitions, special projects, urban interventions, debates and film screenings in striking venues across Lisbon.

For the duration of the biennale, the Lounging Space will open its doors to all visitors. Boasting a bar, a bookstore and a terrace with a view over Lisbon, this hub will also feature its own programme including debates, exhibitions, video projections and a play. This is a great place to meet participants as well as friends.
