Totalling over 40.000 visitors so far, the hugely popular
Quick, Quick, Slow exhibition is being extended until January 3, 2010 at the invitation of the Berardo Collection Museum. With a daily average of more than 470 visitors, it is unquestionably one of the year’s foremost graphic design shows in Portugal, attracting a vast number of students of all educational levels, as well as design professionals, teachers and the general public.
Casting a unique, thought-provoking look at graphic design and its key role in shaping visual culture since the early 20th century, the exhibition combines a wealth of printed materials, animated graphics and specially commissioned digital works. Posters, books and magazines featuring modernist typographic compositions, screen savers, political propaganda from the 1930s and 40s, early 20th-century experimental abstract films, title sequences from famed Hollywood productions and cutting edge graphics for music videos.
Quick, Quick, Slow traces an alternative history of graphic design in connection with time, as it explores and represents motion, acceleration and flow.
